Introduction
When integrating with the Volteras platform, understanding the role of geographic regions in account connections may be required depending on the OEM. Theregion property is an optional setting that you can use to specify the geographic region of the account when generating the account connection URL.
This specification is critical to be considered for OEMs that operate distinct APIs across different regions, as it ensures the connection is routed to the appropriate OEM-specific API endpoint.
There is no single default region. What happens when region is left out depends on the OEM, and for some OEMs the connection fails without it, so we recommend always setting it for the OEMs listed below.

VIN connections
When connecting vehicles by VIN through the Connect Vehicles endpoint, the region is worked out from thecountryCode of each vehicle, or from your organization’s default country if countryCode is left out, so there is no region to set.
